Energía Marina SpA participates in the creation of the first Marine Energy Research and Innovation Center in Chile, MERIC.

MERIC was born out of a public policy, promoted by the Ministry of Energy, in conjunction with CORFO's International Centers of Excellence Attraction Program. It is a public-private Center of Excellence, with the  following technological partners: Energía Marina SpA, Naval Group, Enel Green Power, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Universidad Austral de Chile, through a varied group of professionals and researchers. During the first 4 years, there was an active participation of Fundación Inria Chile and Fundación Chile.

The interdisciplinary research that MERIC carries out allows us to understand the dynamics of the ecosystem related to the extraction of marine energy, as well as how to adapt existing technologies to the extreme conditions of Chile.
